Forests/jungles should definately play a more significant role in CIV4...Wood was always important...In North America today (Canada and US), everything is made out of wood...So for building cities...you need a road to forest/jungle....I am not sure if this is a practical idea...What do you think?

In North America, we make buildings out of wood because it's plentiful and cheap. Or because wood is the only building material that will both rot and burn
Not true elsewhere. In the Middle East, houses are built of cement because there aren't many forests. Even in Europe, there are plenty of stone and cement houses despite the availability of wood.

I know...We could make a special resource for every cultural group...

maybe european buildings are more brick/stone

the very first buildingds were still wood. i have mentioned this ideas to some extent in one of my previous posts. That also included making stone a resource.

I see only one point of woods being resources: ship building and large structure building.

That's why i like the "quarry" resource in several conquests. Big buildings require good stone. :)

Not every type of wood is good for ship building. Especially not for masts...
