I wonder if all these fits under proper restriction of right to assembly? If that's the case, then the Secret Service was legally using preexisting laws fairly. Assemblies don't have the right to pop in the middle of private or public property and start chanting diatribes and personal grievances whenever they feel like it. They are restricted to time, place, and day. It seems to me they're just complaining about it because their protests would have little of an affect if it was as regulated.


edit: "Free Speech Zone" seems to me like newspeak. It's more like "right to assembly zone". But.. the fact that the Secret Service is allowed to do this explicitly is pretty messed up, I'll admit.

The SS is alowed to do whatever bush tells them to. Bush usually does things without congress's aproval. Im sure they're alo getting bush supporting conservative judges. Who are going to lock them up until bush is no longer president. The only hope is a liberal president or governer to pardon them.

Doesn't the President also have the right to freedom of speech? Its kinda hard for him to excercise that right when his speeches are being drowned out by disorderly protestors. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech, it just has to be done in an orderly fashion. Those protestors can always get permits to use the area for their demonstrations on their own time.
