I've been playing this football-themed (soccer) online game for a while now, and was wondering whether anyone else had heard of it?

For anyone wondering, the best parts about the game (IMO) are;
The matches, especially setting the tactics. You don't have to have the best players to win, since the tactics chosen by your team can swing the match in your favour. Plus, every single match action is logged in the match report, so you can see how well your tactics worked, and how lucky/unlucky your result was.

There's no perfect way to construct a squad. You can choose between buying readymade players, or drafting your own players and training them yourself. Both ways can be very successful, although relying on drafting players is much more reliant on long term planning.

There's a whole heap of statistics about your team and the players.

It's very rewarding when your team that you've been grooming for the past year comes out against a better opponent, and thanks to your tactics you pull off a win.

I think I've seen it mentioned a few times before on another football management game but not recently and I've never actually played it. It sounds similar to www.hattrick.org which is the online football management that I play and I'm not too interested in joining another one.

From what I've heard, freekick is more complex than hattrick, but I haven't played hattrick to compare them myself.

I'm in the same boat as Dell. Been playing Hattrick since 2004, and it was actually Dell who introduced me to it. I like it becuase it has decent strategic and tactical elements, a good community, and isn't too time intensive. I can't say I have much interest in joining another football management game either, to be honest.

Quite afew CFCers play Hattrick (or used to), there is a friendly cup competition run over at this place: http://www.civduelzone.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=69 which has alot of teams from CFC in it. The forum there seems to have slowed down a bit lately though (btw where have you been at Dell? Haven't seen you round there for a while.)
