friggin blinking cursor!!!

Ive got a dell desktop with a pentiumIV 2.66ghz, 512 MB @1.99GHZ, 120GB hard drive and a NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX 400 with an AGP 4X Bus and 64MB of mem. Direct X is 9.0 or better.
Ive got the u.s. version of civ4, and have applied the patch. it has run great always, no problems, with one exception. The Frigging cursor is always blinking!!! it drove me so nuts that i quit playing awhile back. i got the itch to play again recently and after looking at that cursor blink for an hour or so i ran out of patience.

so my question is, what can i do to get rid of it? im not very good with all the graphics settings manipulation stuff. it seems that i meet the RECOMMENDED sys requirements for everything but video card, which meets the MINIMUM sysreq's. Is the card i have never going to be sufficiently powerful enough to prevent that cursor from blinking? or could it be something else?

hi sorry im not sure what could be causing ur annoying cursor problems but i have exactly the same graphics card as u and was just wondering what driver version u are using for it? do ur wonder movies in the game work alright?

When saying cursor you're talking about the mouse pointer? Are you perhaps using pointer trails (see control panel, mouse, pointer options)... or some special animated mouse pointers? Disable them. Of course, your graphics card is rather ancient so chances are that there's no cure for you.
