Ok, So I got tired of MAF and CTD and found here the C2C SVN. Great, awesome, downloaded Turtle, created the folder, checked out like it said to do.

My initial DL was only about 1GB or slightly higher. Did one update that added maybe 500MB or so. So I go into the SVN folder I created and..... No clue how to start it up. I saw a C2C SVN shortcut app that pointed to a .exe that was non-existent (I assume I have to find the BTS.exe mysefl?) and a Steam C2C SVN shortcut app with the same issues.

So I set the targets for both of those apps to the BeyondtheSword.exe found deep in the steam folders and yes the game launches and plays and I'm even able to load the pre SVN saved game and play it which from what I've read on here I wasn't supposed to be able to do if SVN is working right. Also..... I still have the same MAF and CTD issues.

you must copy (or more properly perform a SVN export action on the SVN folder) the content of the SVN folder into "Civilization IV\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos".
The Caveman2Cosmos folder you create youreself before exporting to it.

There are then several ways to start C2C, you either start vanilla BtS and click load mod in the main menu.

One of the shortcuts in "Civilization IV\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos" should work too after the export.

Or you can tweak the CivilizationIV.ini file in your username\\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword
like so:

; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = Caveman2Cosmos

for C2C to load automatically any time you start Civ4 BtS
