This was the only city he built for the entire game. It tripped me up when I going for a religion victory as I forgot he was down there; had to send an apostle across the ocean to go and convert him.

Kupe is OP, he was going for an OCC, unlucky for him you found him first.

This has happened twice to me. Not surprisingly, Lupe was never able to recover. I understand not being picky as Kupe, but this takes it to a whole new level.

AI isn't very good with Kupe. Except in my games he's pretty strong culturally. Though he lags in science, so once you have something that can stomp his UU, you will be fine. I find him often stomping on other AI's with his uu. He hasn't had glacial or 1 tile starts in my games, but plenty in other people's games. I did see him on a medium island one game, then expanded on the mainland, then stomped on Eleanor. She was down to 1 city, later in the game I see she's up to 3, I assume from loyalty flipping.
