Frustration and disappointment via Facebook

Why is it that we are expected to wait for a patch? If this was any other product we would get our money back. Why is there an expectation that a patch will fix and bring things back to a quality that existed on the pervious version?

My expectation was that this version would meet and exceed what previously existed in ...CIV4 BTS and all other versions.

It is an insult that we paid for a dumbed down buggy release.

Boring game with no depth.

Do you really think they would have put this much work into a game just to make a cash grab? This facebook page is pathetic, and doesn't address anything other than your personal angst over not liking the game.

You had a chance to try the demo to see if you liked the game, you had a chance to read all the reviews, you had a chance to read the forums to see what it was like. You don't deserve any money in return, and asking for some is sad.

The game is a disappointment but considering the nature of facebook I'm not sure complaints about something being dumbed down could be seriously made from facebook. Also apparently your existing members at this time consist of some sort of squid, one guy, and a couple of young kids. Mommy warned me to stay away from under aged non human groups like that.

The reviews were less than truthful to be honest. Except for Tom Chick's and a few knowledgeable members of this community. The rest were bootlicking by game reviewing sites hungry for advertising dollars. (Don't bite the hand that feeds you.)

I do agree though that it wasn't a cash grab. Companies are in the business to make money. I don't begrudge them that.

Is it "dumbed down" for mass market appeal? It certainly is. I do begrudge them that.

I hope this is pure speculation. I am so tired of all advertisement, promotions, correspondences, community functions, etc going downstream into the vast gulf of facebook.

If the next iteration of Civ involves trading resources with "friends" via message-box-spam and
civilization happiness being based on how LIKED it is, I will vomit out my own intestines and strangle myself with them...

Facebook; the 21st century's interpretation of public hangings...

Not the developers but the publisher who decided to send this out as is.

Would you be happy buying a new car, radio or TV to only wait 3-6 months for it to start working and include the base features as expected?

This is the 5th release. Are we really expected to be understanding?
