FS2-1795-The Second War of the East
Time for war!
Turn 1- 1750 AD
Eh, not much to report, but those pillagers you mentioned near Macau are gone. We crushed all forces they sent our way with the mighty Cossack! Long live the Soviet Empire!
Added in later: I did not notice a group of pillagers farther to the East, but they were dealt with after some minor damage.
Turn 2- 1755 AD
Good God! Mao is throwing everything he's got at us! Time to throw it back! With no losses at all, our Cossacks destroyed about 5 Knights, a catapult, a cannon, and the eastern pillagers! Macau is quite secure now, but I am worried about a small force traversing through Greek territory to raid the northern regions.
Turn 3- 1760 AD
A small force in the north razed a mine down, but that was it. We lost a grenadier taking him down, but that region is a bit more secure now. Our cossacks and a siege force has begun to move into China, near Catherinagrad. The Chinese forces have been expelled from our lands, with the exception of this one, threatening little stack...
I have decided what I am going to do with the Cossacks. They are going to rush into the heart of China and pillage everything. We pillaged one farm, but that was it. China will be inable to produce anything. I am aware that this will make the land worth a lot less when it is ours, so I will pick my targets carefully and leave many improvements for us to benefit from.
Sadly, I noticed that ANOTHER force moved through Greece to attack us...
Turn 4- 1765 AD
Chinese casulaties of the hour: 2 Cho-Ko-Nu, 2 Chinese Grenadiers, a Chinese Musketman, 2 Chinese Pikeman, a Chinese Cannon, and a Chinese war elephant.
We also finished research on Replaceable Parts and began on Rifling.
Some cossacks have surrounded the Chinese northern expedition and the fates of the Chinese soldiers are sealed. Soon they will be dead and we can redirect our defense forces to guarding our lands and invading China.
Turn 5- 1770 AD
Ok…not as good this turn. We lost…three Cossacks, but took out most of their cannon and a few knights. We did not have good luck. I am redirecting all Cossacks I can find to push back the northern force, I may even bring the Catherinagrad Strike Force to bear in defense. Oi.
The Battle Rages
Turn 6- 1775 AD
Erm, another bad battle turn. We lost a grenadier and a Cossack, and they can now move north to Leningrad. However, I have decided to bring the Strike Force against them, though I know Therat will get mad that I failed to take Catherinagrad. Defense is more important than offense.
Also, we trade Military Tradition to Saladin for Astronomy as they are the exact same in beaker cost.
Turn 7- 1780 AD
Their northern forces continue to advance, but the stack has arrived. In response to the stack’s movement, several Chinese Knights moved to raid Macau, but our Cossacks and Pikemen have reduced them to two Knights inside Chinese borders. I am confident that we can expel these Chinese troops, and then someone more skilled at war can drive into the heart of China.
Turn 8- 1785 AD
Ok, their first invading stack in the north diminished into 2 musketmen and two cannon. Now, they have ANOTHER one coming in, but I raided it and took a grenadier down. They have cannon, and we need the cannon gone.
The Stack is in Moscow, resting up a bit, most of them will be healed to full health after a single turn of rest.
Turn 9- 1790 AD
The invading stack was destroyed, but we paid with damage to our Cossacks. No matter. The majority of cities in the main areas of the USSR are producing Cossacks. With a bit of undisturbed rest, the stack will be at full strength, minus one cat (sacrificed him for collateral damage.)
Forces along the Chinese border
Turn 10- 1795 AD
Well, of the four units at the border, all but the cannon are dead. For the moment, there do not appear to be any Chinese forces at the visible border. We have a brief respite now. My reign is over, I hope my successor will be able to improve on my poor efforts and actually drive China out of their own land.
Overview-
City of Catherinagrad
Though we lost a cat, the stack, which is in Moscow with two of its Cossacks nearby, should be able to take the city. Notice that it hasn’t been very assimilated yet (88% of the people are still Soviet). I am optimistic about the future. It will be arduous, but we should be able to break China.
Note the two above pictures are two of the three iron sources that China has.
Near Catherinagrad
Near Tanjin
Conquering Catherinagrad should regain that paticular iron source near it, and it should be possible to send a small raid to land near Tanjin and raze its iron mine. If we could get all three, their production of decent troops would be halted for a time.
May Catherine be with you all! (The State is the religion.
