Has anybody else been getting into this "extreme sport" on the History Channel?

I must admit that if I were younger and a much better horseman that I would be interested in giving it a try, at least with the thinner lances.

I'm not so sure about personally doing this sport after watching this week's show. Two competitors took hits right in the groin.

This Sunday starts the quarter finals for the $100K first place prize.

Season one is now over. The final match was quite spectacular and came down to the very last joust for the $100K prize.

Hits to there, the neck/face and actually hitting the ground seem to be the worst shots . I am shocked at how many times they completely miss.

It is apparently not all that easy to sit on top of a galloping horse in full armor that weighs 80-90 lbs and strike a plate that is perhaps 18" x 18" with an 11 foot long wooden pole.

I hope there is a Season Two. It was quite interesting to watch, especially the later matches once they became more adept.

Yep. I have trouble staying on a galloping horse by itself . Much more holding a lance with one arm and with a pile of armor on.
