^^I don't know what is more stupid in there, the trapped fleet orthe liberation of that city

And of course that the privateers can get some xp out of that: just conquer Babylon

r_rolo1, you forget the whole POINT of privateers! they're to generate exp to get GGs while i'm not at war, so that i can make better privateers with more exp to get even more GGs while still not being at war! why would i want to go to war? are you NUTS? war is dangerous! :crazyeye:

i'm gonna settle a junky city (i decided to do it on that crappy hill, never mind the crabs), kill the ships, then liberate it to hammurabi so that he likes me . how's that for bratty? hi, i used this as a base to destroy your best friend's fleet, you want it now that i'm done with it?

 The stupidities of the AI...if they're not smart enough to build forts as canals, why did Gilgamesh build all those ships in Bad-Tibira in the first place?

oh oops, he didn't. he made them on the real coast, where they could go into the ocean (if they hadn't been skeered of the privateers). they were all piled together in a city to the west of Uruk, on the corner of his empire. when he gave his cities away, i thinkships aren't allowed to in the cities at the time you make a colony? apparently, they had to jump somewhere "legal". the algorithm decided that lake was the best place to teleport them to. brilliant :crazyeye:. it's totally silly, because Bad-Tibira isn't even allowed to build boats, since it's on a freshwater lake with no oceanside coast access. Kish can, but the AI can't work out how to get them into or out of the lake on purpose /sigh.

i've seen that happen once before, the master's galley got sent to a one-tile lake by a city that wasn't allowed to build boats, in warlords. there i think it was some weirdness from a culture revolt and tiles changing ownership temporarily, but it sure looked funny. "OMG Cyrus must have used worldbuilder!!!"

^^That happens because of the mechanics of the colony creation... I'm no way a expert in that, but from the logs I can infer that:
1-player liberates cities
2-colony leader is chosen
3-Cities are taken from player
4-Cities are given to the colony
5-Vassal status is implemented
6-Spash screen

Between steps 2 and 4 the player and the colony leader don't have any kind of agreement... but strangely that only affects naval units, that are expelled for the nearest coastal/sea/lake tile .....

the sea just outside the city was nearer tho! it's freaky. maybe counting the culture he had in that city, which transferred directly over to HammsyWammsy, the lake was closer? no, i have the game up in the background and they could have hopped 2 tiles NE and been on the coast, by an island, outside of the culture. bizarre!

there's also a one tile lake between Bad-Tibira and Eridu (where the fleet was stationed before the split). i'm glad they didn't end up there!

btw, i mentioned that gilgamesh was clever and changed to rep before losing the pyramids. make that, he tried to change to rep. the info screen actually shows him as in Despotism. i guess once he lost the pyramids he lost his civic too, oopsies .

and now another AI, while trying to fend off some mysterious privateers, is dealing with "defy resolution" since he didn't want to give up a city that i have more culture in. silly thing. i'm gonna put it up for vote until you give in, face it! and we have OB, i'm spreading the AP religion in more of his cities as we speak, so that he'll suffer even more next time he defies. am i evil or what? i love being a permanoob, i get to try whatever i want to do, whether it's logical or not :)!

oh, i didn't know there was a rule about that. i don't see it at the beginning of this very long thread. can you point me to it please? thanks!

I think it's only documented in the Babe Thread. The rule still applies to the Funny Pictures Thread. But I'm not sure it counts here.

Hi!, I don't know if something like this has already been posted,... but aren't this kind of ships restricted to coast navigation?
