I played a game with 10 AI's and trying to convert everyone to my religion while the Egyptians wanted everyone to convert to their religion - I won but couldn't work out why - until I saw their starting city (and their only city for the whole game).

I was playing with Raging barbs and they kept on coming, I had to build archers to defend everything and it ended up looking like this -

I couldn't simply take over the barb city as they were coming from 5 different directions.

1. You can sometimes see all seven religions founded by one civ, but rarely like this
2. This doesn't really catch it right, but it is funny to see Washington seem all pleasant in the introduction, and then suddenly start acting furious. This was the best I could get with screen shots

I think that got patched in 3.13

Sorry, no screenshot, but this happened in my current game. I'm at war with Mehmet and I capture Istanbul. Now, of course, the culture shrinks as his city is in revolt, and barbarians spawn in the middle of the battlefield. We've got rifles and grens and giant stacks facing each other, and here comes a couple of barbarian axemen strolling upon the scene. Fog or no fog, there needs to be a time where they just turn the damn things off. At least in Civ II they would spawn late with muskets and cannons.

The little icon above the science/culture/espionage sliders in the upper left has the logs.

So my spys can swim, like Tanya in Red Alert 2, apparently:

I'd just booted a Catherine invasion force out of one of my coastal cities. My residual spy decided to swim off it seems....

30% science
how many cities do you have

It was a very, very, very long war.

As posted somewhere else, Catherine just wouldn't make peace without me giving her one of my cities (on a continent in which she had no cities - see the map, I'm yellow, she's red). I wasn't prepared to do this so we fought for 50+ turns while the rest of the world sailed past us science-wise. I say we fought - basically she kept sending invasion forces, which I annihilated each time. Only twice did she get ashore & take a city and in both cases lost it the next turn.
When she finally made peace, we subsequently had two very similar wars, but by that time I had air power and it was a massacre; the last time I brought someone else and their two vassals in, made peace with her, and watched them rip her to bits.

And actually, yeah, quite a lot of cities 'cause I quecha-rushed my neighbour and ended up with 3/4 of a big continent to myself, which I had to fill up (even then Hammurabi came and settled on a one-square headland in the corner). Though when the war wasn't going I was still running ~60-70% science.
