There have been quite a few posts about wierd culture patterns, but many of them the immediate result of a city being captured. Here's one that's a bit different. I had indeed captured Kyoto, but quite a long time before, and I just couldn't work out how on eatrh this Japanese culture pattern came about. Why the tiles that are red are red, and why the ones that are no colour are no colour if the other ones there are red...

it has to do with the third civ there. its culture overpowers the cultures of Japan, which would create that. the single square in the middle is caused by residual culture that the other civ and your civ don't reach or overpower.

Another in the series of city buildings/wonders interfering with nearby improvements.

I just can't imagine how a mine would spring up in the middle of Stonehenge IRL. Actually, in this case, it was the other way around - the mine was there first...

It's actually the earth 18civs scenario in vanilla. Rome starts next to iron, wine, marble, clams and fish. Just too easy really ;) The stonehenge mine in that picture is on iron, but I didn't yet have iron working when I took that picture.

Oops  At one point every civ in the game were in judaism, of course they had to be taken out. So I battled through five different civs to reach the Apostolic Palace, but a victory election came out *1* turn before razing the city. :badcomp: :smoke:

If it's an Earth map, how can the starting spots be changed? Someone had to make that spot on purpose.

It was someones unfinished senario they just had the earth maps land and 4 civs that were randomly placed at start cause i had just the map... i think i can give you a link to the senario
