I have one where Monty hadn't declared war before 1000AD that was pretty funny.

or i may say as well that "I have one where Ghandi declared me war before 1000AD that was pretty funny."
Heh, that one is somewhere a few pages earlier.

Oops.

This is SPARTA!! Captured by Korea...

I hope that you're planning to finish business....
I did and wiped them off the map, but the game ended in stalemate because I couldn't get the Apollo Programme to build quickly and conquering the other AIs would have meant turn after turn after turn after turn of boring march across Sumeria and India in pursuit of domination.
BTW this was long after phalanxes, Pericles had gunpowder by the time I began to ...persuade him to give me Athens, Corinth, Ephesus and so on. In this world the Bible was originally written in Korean ;).

What map script was it? Interesting...

Continents...I find hemispheres a bit boring and even then this one was rather too spaced out for comfort. By the time I was able to invade Pericles he was solidly established on his continent beside Gilgamesh and any invasion was just solid slog. That screenshot was the highlight of the game.

I normally play Big-and-Small because it gives enough early game variety with other landmasses accessible by galley rather than galleons. I'm trying some of the modded map-scripts to give me less sea between everybody.

Probably should have burned them to the ground... Although if they spawned Partisens and a GG (hopefully named Leonidus).

1) Ahh the Elephant Crushed my home! Wait... France has Elephants?

2) You've declared war on us, spied on our territory, and encroach on our land... But we're brothers of the faith so you must be OK.

I got oil there later on - I gave one or two cities away to Gilgamesh and then kept the rest as a launch pad for a later campaign against Sumeria...which never came. The AI was spamming cities even on my home island, so I didn't want them to get even more territory as I was at that time going all out for domination. Basically Asoka filled in some of the gaps on my island and I had to prise him off there later on, after I'd dispensed with Pericles' little concessions too, one of which at this point in time still exists. By the end of the game Gilgamesh was drilling to the north-east of my continent and I had my hands full booting Asoka from a lot of the surrounding islands. So razing any captured cities was just going to invite more AI spam.

@ICNP's French Elephants - nice. Well, they probably came from Indochina...never forget the Americans had to step in in Vietnam to get the French out of a pickle.

Image #1: One foot out, one foot in.
Image #2: Tree in river. And where is that tree shadow coming from?
Image #3: Unguarded worker chops down trees, but why? There is no city to chop for.

During dissolved MP I decided to finish the game myself; after centuries of hearing plunder sounds of my forgotten Privateer i decided to look closer, asking a question "how is it even possible it survived so long" - ie. NimbusAI got destroyers some time ago... Thing i saw was... well, look for yourself and remember WorldBuilder is disabled in Multi

Spoiler :
