How come there is a green line (for open borders) leading from Alexander to me when i clearly states that I have no deals with him
(Yeah, i know thats not really funny but it seemed weird to me)

I thought the funny thing was supposed to be that Isabella and Tokugawa are pleased/friendly with you, even though they're probably the hardest AI to please in the game.

I also am not sure what you're talking about. Where does it "clearly" say that you don't have any trades with Alex??
It says he's happy with previous trades, and unhappy that you've traded with his enemies.
And open borders counts as a trade...

Actually, you only get the open borders bonus if you have had open borders for a long period of time. You could have just signed it a few turns ago when the bonus hadn't taken affect yet.

No I definately didn't, the only people I had open borders with were Catherine, Isabella & Toku because they were my only allies

I once early on tried to send a missionary to Spain without open borders. Took the Caravel into her port, but of course could not unload the missionary, so I gave her the ship. The missionary walked all the way home over the water ...
