Just started a Oasis game with Frederick and I come up on this... Im guessing this is a bug... Corn on desert and another desert tile with 1 food yeild, which when I move over also says "corn". Is this a bug or can food resources actually be on Desert tiles?

Sirian mentioned something about this before. I guess it only happens when playing on the oasis map script. IIRC, the reason no stalks are shown is because it produces so little food. The more food a tile produces that has corn on it, the more stalks. If you irrigate that tile that doesn't show the resource but says there is one on it, stalks will show up.

I've had corn in the desert before too, though I can't remember if it was an Oasis map. I think maybe the game is programmed to always give your capital city food resources, which leads to things like that when you start out somewhere otherwise horribly bad.
