Couple years back, there was an episode on PBS on the evolution of railroads. If you're laying a track between 2 cities and there's a mountain in between, that's how those two type of engineers would've decide, the Russian will blow a hole in the mountains, and the US would go around. The show didn't disclosure what influences the decisions, any railroad engineers in here want to take a crack at this?

Maybe that'll change once the Russia join the WTO
Its because the americans lazy so he goes around... where as the russian knows that the rout through the mountians is shorter for the train once complete so he does the hard work now for the pay off latter & also because he just likes blowing <snip> up.

That's the only real reason.

I reckon they both comply with their respected codes.

Or you can say they short on everything, longer track need more metal, higher maintain costs :gold: , needs more fuel to pull the trains extra distant :move: .... Beside, laziness inspired inventions. Beside I never heard ppl say "I love exercise and walking so much I'll invent cars, elevators, escalators, remote controls....."

The US love blowing <snip> up too, we just don't do it at home, we outsource to 3rd party like Bin Laden.

Moderator Action: Watch the language. Also, this is for pictures, not discussion. AvianAvenger, civn - warned.

This gave me quite a giggle. Never expected it! Wonder what other techs have been popped from goody huts later in the game? Figured it would be gold!

Maceman 3 attacks ... pow! flinches like he got poked in the forehead, says "ugh!" then BFFFFF!! with his mace. Down goes musketman.:lol::lol:

I forgot to grab it, but I just exploded with laughter when, after giving Roosevelt 40gp as a gift, he said "Did you ever know that you're my hero? You're everything I wish I could be."

Do you think Bette Midler gets a royalty from this? :D

Franklin Roosevelt, aka "The Divine Mr. R."

Mansa Musa said the same thing to me a few games back. I didn't find it funny. We were in a huge archipelago game and he was stuck on about 16x16 squares. He never had anything to trade, was near the bottom in score and mooched off of me most of the game. I felt sorry for him and kept giving him stuff. The VERY NEXT GAME he was my next-door neighbor. I kicked his butt first thing.:p

This is wrong in so many ways...

:mischief:

so what? the mine cart is driving through the worker, while he is with one foot in the mine.
Okay, this is a bit weired, but you can see tons of weired overlapings in this game. Nothing special :p

I think what he's getting at is that it looks like the worker is deficating in the cart. :)
