Actually, you can discover any resource you know how to mine when you work a mne, so you can discover aluminium, iron, coal and uranium later on when you have researched the right techs.

I'm surprised they still haven't fixed the bug with the ridiculous number of turns required to build an improvement (it's minus 1 in 32-bit binary representation, as an unsigned number, FFFFFFFF in hexadecimal), but it does go away if you hover the mouse over your civilisation's flag. It seems to get stuck thinking you have a worker selected for some reason.

doesn't matter, the joke is the number of turn it takes to create such small chance.

I know I know - don't be so serious! I was poking fun at the aluminium, that's all!

I know, that's true, but above is obviously not the modern age (note the warrior defending the city ;) ).

Yeah, I don't see why they didn't fix it in Vanilla. It seems to think the next unit in the cycle is the worker carrying out the just-selected action...

Hey dude, use spoilers just like i did with your quote; it takes to long to scroll!

Well, conventions like this (whilst being excellent for most other threads) fly out the window on this thread - it makes it easier to see all the funny pics when they aren't in spoiler tags when you just scroll down the page. Was that how it was earlier in this thread?

Y'no, what I find interesting is the fact that when you have a military unit and a worker on the same tile, assign both to a stack, then make the Worker do stuff, the worker's actions are tagged with the warrior.

no way! a single warrior defending my glorious capital is a sign of honor! i've had my original warrior guarding my capital while researching future tech a few times even. note that i don't usually try to get away with that if my capital is coastal ;).

Wow! I could never do that, I'd feel too...backwards! I always see it as a sign of technological advancement to use the most modern defenders available, also, it makes me feel more secure ;). If you play like that on any level above Noble, then I find that quite amazing - especially with the Paratroopers...you must end the game before the AI gets them? Imagine that...paratrooper lands, takes city, razes capital...ooooops!

*giggle* believe it! see, i'm an oddball. i very much don't like wars, so i try to get "more secure" by jedi mind tricks and diplomacy. after all, paratroopers don't land and take your capital if they're friendly with you and you have them distracted beating up somebody else.

this is a ramble i posted the other day about a recent emperor game. i ended up winning, twice . i held the AP vote to see if i'd win, i did, but then i reloaded and kept going until i won the bizarre culture (no slider, no caste system) variant goal i had in mind.

And here there be sea monsters...

And here is a new unit put into the latest update of the vanilla version of the game. It combines the best attirbutes of cavalry and riflemen, gaining a bonus against canons and mounted units, and moving two tiles every second turn... ;)

funny cav0000.JPG

It's the six legs that the right hand one has that gives this special combination of bonuses!

She's only annoyed with my question; about me, she's cautious! (it was easy to be cautious at WAR, i told her i would also adopt Hinduism if she created it... of course it was a lie! When she found it, i'll adopt any other religion and she'll be really Furious... but then the Praets will Rule The World!!!))
