Here are a few new units. Aurora fighters, powerful advanced WWIII fighers, that can fly air superiority missions. T-100 tanks, WWIII Russian double barrel tanks. Quantum bombers, Quantum age bombers that drop quantum bombs and can fly in space. Death fighters, anti matter age space fighers, fires lasers and can enter hyperspace.

i thought i had heard that be for hyperspace RIP OFF cough lol

You correct HIS spelling and you type 'Sence'?

I dont think we should go as far into the future as you say but we could go maybe 80 years. Hypersonic Bombers, Space Stations, MIRVs etc. are good. But DEFINITELY NOT Photon bombers and quantum blah blah. Hyperspace, The game is not Civ IV: Star Wars Rip-off!!

I voted don't care. Not because I'm opposed to it, because if they did it, I guess I'd be cool.

My problem with a future age is I don't know what the difference would be from the modern age except unit names. So you have a new tank with 20 attack instead of 14 attack. Big deal.

The modern game, you can already get to your neighbour's front door in one turn... you already have enough wonders to be a powerhouse... you already have all the land and resources in the world spoken for...

Seems more like an aesthetic benefit to me. Just a "cool" factor, without really adding to the game. Might make for a better scenario.

would like an optional future age, however is has to be done right. I want to see Fusion Plants, Nanotech, Cloning, A.I., Fuel Cells, etc, I dont want to see tech growth too quick (i.e. massive terraforming in 50 years, anti-matter stuff), or units/techs with simple adjectives as a desciption, like Advanced Fusion or Heay Fighter. Potential Tech/Unit progression can be achieved with some level of realism. Social effects are the tough part. Predicting social change is very difficult.

nearby future is okay and with genetic longvity just presented,
ther shell be improved military units, and modern cityimprovment.
so lets extend the moderntime not goeing to starwars

I'd like to see a future scenario included, and a Sengoku style one. Perhpas in the expansion pack.

u stole that word\idea hyperspace from a show BAD BAD person anyways keep the future idea to non alien sh*t and its good

I just don't see the added benefit that late in the game.

The modern game is boring enough as is, and having units that are twice as powerful, and wonders that are twice as beneficial doesn't change the fact that all the territory is covered by one nation or another.

Rather than extending a boring part of the game, I'd like to see them instigate more strategic choices in the modern age. Cold war, more espionage, interfering in other countries' relations, fighting over resources (oil) as the supply becomes more limited.

Only then will a futuristic war become useful -- if there's a reason to fight.

I think that there should be no "future" age, but the modern age should have a few more advances which are beyond humanity today. There are already 3 things in Civ 3 which are not technologically feasable at this time: the Cure For Cancer, the SDI, and the starship to Alpha Centauri. I would like to see a few more "future" technologies in Civ 4. Bear in mind, the game ends in 2050 A.D., so I think the design team should take a (cautious) look forward 4 or 5 decades, and include upcoming developments in the game. I'm not advocating laser-armed giant robots, but something like infantry wearing chameleon-like camouflage suits could reasonably be expected in around 20-30 years.

Future techs sound a lot more like a good thing for an expansion pack. For me the tech tree needs some real work before you start going into the future. And anyways I have to agree this is more about history and I would like to see them flush this game out to make it more reflective of historical fluctations is civs and so forth.

Though some more modern techs could work, like bio-engenering, ecological techs, nothing over the top but logical extensions of modern tech that would happen in the next 50 years.

What about over the horizin techs that are forseeably on the drawing board but may not get used inutill 2015
- UCAvs's
- Scamjet bombers - London to NY in one turn
-stalth ships

I would like to see this idea of the Future Age aply on cIV. Is quit strange to stop on modern time and then to researce Future tech's n times...
