Future of the game?

Will there be more updates and DLC? I came back to the game today and am loving the mechanics. I think it's a great game, though a little rough around the edges. That roughness is almost apart of the games charm.

There are also already some mods on steam. One of them is an example mod by the developers that adds an "alien government". I haven't played it but it looks pretty wild.
