Future Units/Technology

Does anyone else think that there should be at least a few futuristic units with ajoining technology? Im not talking about majorly futuriistic (like startrek, mech warrior, halo or ect.) Just things that arn't to far off in the future, maybe about ten or fifteen years away. The only futuristic things in CIV3 were the space ship (with no applicable purpose) and cure for cancer. Maybe a more advanced marine or infantry? Anyone else agree and/or have ideas for said units?
