this is a little bit out of original civ concept perhaps.. but still

i miss that once you get in "modern" era everything stops and hell only future tehnologies can be discovered.. why not like in per example in civCTP (by the way this game has many good points though civ2 or 3 is better) game can lead you in not os distant future... with new weapons.. new ways of war (bio terrorists.. media brain washing.. etc)..

well comments please :D

It depends if people want a sci-fi type game or not: I know many people prefer strategy and settings based on real historical and contemporary technologies/politics.

In Civ2 TOT, the "Extended Original" is an option when selecting the type of game to play: continue, with a new map and further advances, after landing on Alpha Centauri, or simply end the game with the Spaceship Victory as normal.

This might be a good feature for Civ4: to chose the timeframe for the final turn. Either round about now, or 500 years hence. If you don't want the game to inevitably evolve into Buck Rogers, it doesn't have to.

true.. but i liked it when it went just a little up to future.. fusion per instance.. or AI.. etc.. but then again.. well see
