Game Crashes once I build a city?

So I played the game all weekend using my old graphics card and decided to give the new directions for a ATI cards a shot...After 2 hours of messing around with the directions I finally got the game to run using my Radeon 9550 card!!!! And trust me I had to alter the tech notes around and figure out on my own to get it up and running!!!

so I start a new world....its up and running and once I order my 1st city to be built the game crashes....No error message nothing!!!! I must say the graphics are way better than the slow and old looking graphics I played with all weekend....

I hope somebody can give me some suggestions on what to try next to fix my problem....I have a funny feeling that it has to do with autosave!!!! I just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to disable it but to no luck!!!!

Well, I guess i can wait for a patch but I would love to hear if anybody has had the same problem or might know hoe to fix this

For me it didn't help to move the city_titlearrows.tga file från custom på hub. So i started to alter the "Civ4Theme_Custom.thm" file, that fixed the problem. But later on the game crashes again. I'm making a list of stuff that makes the game crash, so far the game crashes if im trying to build Warriors, Workers, Archers "not until it's finished". Building like library, aqueduct, heritage och United Nation.

Don't have any problem with black spots or that the game eats all memory, Hoped that someone with a bit more experience could take a look on the "Civ4Theme_Custom.thm" file and post a reply here.

Hey I don't have an answer but I can add a little info to the situation. Like you it took me a while to get past the video renderer issue but the unpak fix soon set me right. So I fired up the game, created my world, moved my warrior and hit B for my very first city and boom dumped to desktop.

Never seen a game CTD so fast in my life...blink of an eye...so I restarted the game tried again but this time hit the "Build city" icon, bang CTD. So next I tried restarting and waiting until the turn was over. I hit the enter key to end the turn and boom CTD. Ok I thought, I dug through the options and selected the "Don't wait for end of turn" option and tried again...you guessed it CTD. I could get mad but I have decided it's not worth it but it's getting harder to answer my friends "is it worth it?" questions in a civil way...I hope we get a patch soon. So far my greatest achievement is getting 37 gold from a village that just happened to be next to my warrior .
