Game crashes when reloading for a mod or scenario

Got BTS off of Steam a couple days ago. Using it in Vista, and the normal game works fine. However, when I go to load one of the scenarios and the game exits to reload with the mod files, Windows pops up a "Program not responding" box and sits for a little while before telling me I need to close the program. It obviously never loads again after that. Just leaving the box sitting there doesn't affect anything either. I've tried updating everything I can think of without luck. I haven't tried uninstalling because I've been having getting good download speeds from Steam lately.

I'm not really sure if this fix it anyway, since I have XP setup with dual boot and running BTS in XP I can have it load mods and scenarios fine. So I have a workaround for my problem, but its a pain to have to reboot into XP just to play a scenario or mod.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any other ideas? I've been watching these forums and haven't seen anyone else report a problem.

Not knowing much about vista, I can't really offer anything, save to ask if its a user access control issue? Maybe the mod / scenario you are trying to load is in a locked directory? Can you turn-off user access control, and see if that helps?
