My game crashes for no particular reason... I don't know why it's happening, since when I've got the 1.52 patch, I've thought that all my problems were gone... But they weren't....

Please help me! I can't stand having to reset and wait my pc load again every half hour of play...

Sorry if I couldn't make myself clear, but take in consideration that english isn't my first language...!

Ps: I've attached the dxdiag below...

If your machine is shutting itself down, it sounds like a overheating CPU. Checked you DxDiag file and can find no other reason for problems with your spec. I'm no expert with ATI cards though. I think P4 CPUs have a cut off point at around 75-80 degrees and is not the first time I've heard of P4s overheating with Civ4. Check the temperture if you can. If you're just resetting it, it might be something else entirely.

Thanks Zanmato!
The problem is that it shuts itself down AND crashes to desktop.... Maybe I have two problems then...

I don't know how to check the temperature... Any sugestion?

Your sound drivers are dated 2001. It may be worth updating these.

when the game crashes is it restarting the computer or just crashing to desktop?

Most motherboards come with somekind of small program to monitor the hardware temps. Might be worth checking the CD that the motherboard came with. There are some shareware programs that would do the same. You can check it through the BIOS but there will be no load on the CPU and you would have to restart anyway.
Like I said if it's just crashing to the desktop then resetting the computer, it's a issue with the game, device drivers or video/sound hardware and not a CPU issue I think.

I had the same problem. Enabling 'Overdrive' on my ATI 9600XT helped, as did putting the CPU shutdown speed at 90 degrees.

Blow the dust out of your machine too, it helps.
