Game freezing often

I have a repetetive problem with the game freezing up.
I don't think it is confined to any particular screen or part of the game.
At the start of a game it seems to play ok, not really linked to map size or graphics settings.
Then, later on, after say turn 150 on standard pace, it can tend to freeze up.
I can ctrl-alt-del it and re-load, but sure enough after a few turns it will freeze up again.

Playing using - core i5 vPro, Intel HD graphics, 4Gb ram.

All suggestions appreciated.

Is this vanilla Civ5 or G&K?

Verify your cache files: Steam --> Library --> Right-click Sid Meier's Civilization 5 --> Properties --> Local Files --> Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

(It's normal for some files to be reacquired the first time you run this process. Continue to run it until all files verify.)

Please post your DxDiag:

Thanks!

Thanks for that, I may have a connection issue with Steam due to network problems, but I will try the Steam update.

I am running G&K and it should be patched up to date.

Also attached is my Dxdiag file

Thanks for posting the DxDiag. You definitely need to update your video drivers. They're more than 1.5 years old.

How annoying.. I tried to do that using the internal update within windows, and it tells me all is fine, and I have the most up to date drivers.

Right, well those are now updated, I will try the Civ again and see how it goes.

Well at first attempt re-loading the game I tried earlier froze up before even opening.
Save attached.
I guess I had better try a fresh start and turn down all the video settings again.

I can open your save file w/o freezing. If you still have problems with a new game, are you running in DX9 or DX10/11 mode? Whichever one, try the other.

Ok, I moved over to DX9 and it seems to run sweetly now, thanks for your help
