Minimum specs as follows:
Minimum requirements (Low, 1080p, 30 FPS)
CPU: Intel i5-4690 / Intel i3-10100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 460 / Intel Arc A380 (4Gb Vram)
Memory: 8GB RAM
Storage: 20GBOS: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)DirectX: 12
PS5
CPU: Zen core 8 3.5Ghz
GPU: AMD 6700xt 16Gb Vram
Memory: 16GB DDR6
Storage: 825GB SSD
Mac Apple silicon
CPU: M2-4 (M1 + M3 has lower GPU power)
GPU: iGpU - no VRam (Similar to a Vega 5600G)
Unified Memory: 8-16gb then swap
Storage: 256GB
--------------------- CiV 6 Memory crashes ---------------------------------
There's video of giant maps crashing on PS5 because of out of memory
I personally tested out of memory crash on my M2 mac mini base model.... 46.9Gb of Swap ram....
Memory Leaks can be problematical on Apple Silicon
dynamic swap memory can be set on certain machines. For Mac users read this interesting article:

So basically, Civ 6 forces the system to use more than the base GPU Vram, and Memory COMBINED.
For Mac users that is the norm, because the base Ram 8Gb is almost always punching at the Unified Memory via Swap.
But that also give a virtually infinte Memory to any application... I have 1,7 TB available on my SSD...
MAC compress Memory usage often, to free up space for the CPU, that can slow up GPU process, with memory leaks that the system is unable to purge...
Memory Leaks can be problematical on Apple Silicon
I don't know much on PC or PS5 what happens, I've hardly launched Civ 6 on my PC once since I got the M2. But I don't remember Huge Maps problems. Maybe having dedicated Vram helps a lot...
even 4Gb apparently...
How is Civ 7 behaving in regard of Memory usage does anyone knows???
Video resolution, map size, number of civs... does Civ 7 stay within the GPU Vram limits and System memory limits or
it overflows into swap like butter as it is still the case for Civ 6????

Mac Virtual Memory – What it is, the Swap Location, and How to Disable Swap in Mac OS X
I was asked recently about the Mac OS X swapfile, specifically how to disable Mac OS X swapping entirely. I decided I will take this opportunity to talk a bit about Mac virtual memory (swap), it…
