Game keeps crashen HELP!!!!!

My game keeps crashen for no reason wot so ever basically i start a game and sometimes when i choose character it crashes but mostly crashes when i am just gettin in to the game last time it happened about 400AD.
Even tho i saved it i go back and sometimes it carrys on for a bit then crashes crashes and crashes again.
My brother also plays and he is in the year 2010 so i really dont understand why it crashes for me
I really wanna play civ properly so reply asap PLZ

I do have moniter on but the problem is driving me crazy so can u help

You have to have a monitor to be able to see the game. Also, make sure it is plugged in (both to the computer and the outlet, otherwise it won't work).
