Game keeps crashing.

I reinstalled my game as it was crashing.patched it to 3.19.now its still crashing?i have avg on.it has a gamng mode on pop up.i turned it of and the game still crashes.anyone know why this is ?thank you.

yes there is an error message when it crashes.it crashes randomly during a game.it used to be fine.never even run slow on 18 civ earth map.my pc is windows xp.sp3.amd athlon 64 processor 3400+ 2.40ghz 2gb ram.video card is ati radeon 9550.

Im not sure why the game crashed now.it worked fine before.now it crashes still after i reinstalled it still.thanks again.

the error message says something like civ 4 has encountered an error and needs to close.im not sure how to post dxdiag results.the only change i have to my pc i can think of is avg.it says something about gaming mode on.im not sure if this is anything to do with the game crashing.

yes it offers to send a service report.it is windows xp.home edition.version 2002.service pack 3.hope this helps.

I have a similar issue.
Beyond the sword crash randomly in 1933 in a specific save.
I have win XP professional (SP3). I get the following error message:
AppName: civ4beyondsword.exe AppVer: 3.0.3.1 ModName: cvgamecoredll.dll
ModVer: 3.0.3.0 Offset: 000d0c40

I gave my pc a good clean getting rid of the dust.seems like this has worked.

@kensington888: glad it works, as a general comment: you can attach files, like images with the manage attachments button in the advanced reply box (which you get when clicking on go advanced below the normal reply box)
