Game off center

Please help. Just got my son this game for Christmas and he was so happy. Now he is very disappointed. Installed it, no problem, but he can't do anything. When game loads everything is off centered to the right. He can't use any buttons. Ex. the start game and every other button are so far to the right he can't see the whole thing nor click it.
We meet all system requirements and everything else looks good. Thanks

In the main menu click "Advanced" then "Options" and then click on the "Graphics" tab where you'll be able to adjust the screen resolution...

If you can't see the main menu and do that, with notepad open the "CivilizationIV.ini" file in your "Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Colonization" folder and change this: "FullScreen = 0" to this "FullScreen = 1". That way you'll be able to move the window around to change the screen resolution...

You could also try to manualy set the "ScreenHeight" and "ScreenWidth" in that same file...
