My daughters and I have been playing multi-player games for years over our home network without any issues until yesterday.

I am not 100% sure of all of the settings we chose when we set the game up since we chose random on may type and size. We chose to play with 6 AI charactors and then the two of us.

All was well until dinner time so I saved the game and we both let it run until we got back. Continued to play for awhile and then my game started to glitch a bit where workers would stop working on say a mine and would become their turn and the mine would look half finished but the land would never say it was a mine and I could not get them to re-work it. Not sure if this makes sense or not but it's what happened.

So I saved the game and told my dtr I was going to go out of the game and come back in. When I did I pulled up the saved game and she connected but I was never able to click the button to start the game. If I hovered over the button It said warning, unsupported number of players or something to that effect.

There was only us two plus 3 AI players still left in the game. I looked at the game settings and noticed that the map size was Duel. I figured that had something to do with the warning.

I figured I might be able to find end edit the saved game file and change if from Duel to Small and see if that would help but the game threw up when I tried to recover the edited saved game.

Anyone ever have this issue and/or know a way to recover it? Or do I chalk it up to a lost game?

Thanks

You could try loading an autosave from before your saved game.
Go back even several turns if need be.

Somehow the random map selection got wild on you.

That was a good idea but it didn't work. Tried all of the auto saves all the way back to the first one and apparently the game started out wonky. Oh well, it happens I spose. Thanks for your help.
