Just got a Game Cube - Console, Memory Card and 'Luigi's Mansion' game for £159 from Toys R Us. I chose Luigi's after humming and aahing over some BMX/Soccer/F1 games, but reasoned that IMHO Nintendo make the world's best console games so that was the obvious choice.
Was I right? Yer darn tootin' I was right!
I don't know what it is about Nintendo - their in-house games are always Grade A. Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis - all stonkers. Now I think Luigi's will join them as a classic. There's just so much attention to detail it's frightening - but then again, I think that's why they have the reputation they do.
I'm going to get Star Wars Rogue Rebel Squadron Leader Thing next - looks awesome.
Anyone else got a Cube?

Would anyone like to trade a NGC and a game or two for my N64 + 30-odd games ? Please ?

Pretty please ? I'll throw in my girlfriend, she can cook for you ! My car, my cat, my PC. Come on man !

I am considering buying a GameCube. I have the cash but I think I might wait a while. There are two very promising games. WMX8 and Rouge Leader. I already have a PS2 so I don't know

I don't know about this.Nintendo will not see another nickel from me.

I have
NES
SNES
N64

and,literally,100s of games and well over 10k invested in the 3 systems, games and doo-dads.I am tired of becoming obsolete every 2 years.

I could have got a PS and still play the games on PS2.Nintendo's affinity for the cartridge is no longer acceptable.PS was very expensive for the day,but look at the mileage they got out of it.

I would go with PS2 most likely. Its a dvd player as well.Just seems better value for the dollar with a much brighter future.

X-Box is interesting but wait and see seems best for now.

I've got a PS2 as well, Smash. If how many games you can buy is an issue, I would go for the PS2 - it's got a lot of good games for it.
I've heard that in Japan, the X-Box is being outsold by the Dreamcast, believe it or not. But I've not played it, so can't comment much about that.
"I am tired of becoming obsolete every 2 years" - yeah, that's a pain!

oiy...? GC uses mini-DVDs, not cartridges...

I've had my Cube for a few months (living in the U.S.). Luigi's Mansion is indead great, and when you're done with that, try either Pikmin or Rogue Leader. BTW, what's wrong with cartridges anyway? I prefer them over disks.

Cartridges are definately better for kids...and even clumsy adults. :)
Pikmin looks awesome.
And I don't know how anyone can complain of the upgrading problems of consoles....look at computers!

I got one a few weeks ago. Too bad they were almost ut of games @ the store I bought it and it was already past cloising time so I picked Crazy Taxi and to my surpise the games was pretty cool. I'm now saving some cash for SSX Tricky (14th june)

That's one plus to living in North America as opposed to Europe. Games are released here first! Well, second. Japan gets more games, better games, a wider variety of games, and gets them first! (Typically).

Rogue Squadron has the most technically impressive graphics ever:love:

Resident Evil has the prettiest IMO...

I didn't really like Luigi's Mansion, but Mario Sunshine looks like it'll be great. Same with Zelda, Metroid, and all the sports games coming out this fall. Better start saving:goodjob:
