Best post of the monthSirian said:Sid doesn't even know. (Seriously!) Didn't he change them to hammers for Colonization? Too late! Like the QWERTY keyboard, it's too darned late to fix it now. It's imprinted on the culture. We'll be dealing with Shields until the end of time.
Anybody calling them hammers in Civ4... Well, maybe they can, but old timers will still say Shields, and then somebody will have to explain why to the newbies. What a mess.
As long as they are blue, though, my brain can process them correctly. Blue shields forever. If they make the hammers red or some other nonsense, there may be civil unrest outside Firaxis headquarters.

Even if saltpeter will be eliminated from the resource grab-bag, perhaps there ought to be some provision for the development of true "high explosives" (TNT)... Alfred Nobel? This is gunpowder "going to the next level" before nuclear fission.Quentin said:http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/civilization-iv/617487p1.html
"And there are minor changes, such as the shields being turned into hammers."
"Gunpowder units no longer require saltpeter and Firaxis will probably give players a technology to synthesize oil."
"Cities don't riot anymore, but unhappy workers simply stop working."

Or you can save up your Great People and trade them in groups for Golden Ages.
Wonder what shorthand nickname will people come up with to refer to them on the boards...Thangorodrim said:imagine...what would happen to hammering someone!?!?![]()
