It's way funnier now!

From the website:
Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness in a quiet American suburb.

Thats amazing!

That's not the true Jon Arbuckle from the Garfield cartoons and it isn't funny.

You need the everyday Jon Arbuckle, with his dreams, aspirations and "normal life", in order to provide a humourous and effective contrast with Garfield's nihilism. It doesn't work without the two of them playing against each other.

Who knew Garfield was holding the comic strip back? All this time I thought it was the writers.

It seems I have zero sense of humour. Explain what's funny.

Without anyone to communicate with, Jon Arbuckle looks completely insane, as opposed to being just a loser.

Has anyone ever noticed that this guy talks to his cat a lot? Now that Garfield can't deliver punchlines and make it a two-way conversation, Jon is finally seen as the psycho he is :)

Two of my favorites:

The comic is scarier now.

It just becomes depressing.

John looks a bit nutty without Garfield.

These are the best:
