Garrisoned units problem when saving and reloading

So I had a garrisoned Archer in Antium and I was building a Horseman. When the Horseman production was complete my Archer disappeared (I believe I noticed it one turn later, as the game doesn't tell you anything when you have something in the queue).

I saved my game because I knew I was about to do something stupid, so I did it (I moved the Horseman near 4 enemy units) and reloaded the save. And now my Horseman was gone and the Archer was back in the scene!

After I saved the game, the only thing I messed with was the Horseman.
 
I had a simular thing happen when i finnish a unit, but the garrisoned unit appeared when i remove the new unit. seemed to be a graphic error not a loss of the unit. but then agian it might not be the same error

something similar to what you said occurred to me in another game that I just finished (I stopped playing the Rome one that I posted and played a full game with Arabia).

I had one Frigate which was garrisoned (IIRC, it's possible that it was sleeping), I upgraded it to a Destroyer and moved the Destroyer out to kill a nearby barbarian ship. when I tried to move the Destroyer back to the city, there was an unselectable Frigate there. the icon was positioned to the right of the city strength, which means that it was supposed to be a garrison or a unit without movement points, but I couldn't select the unit.
