This is a very interesting read; at first look it seems OT, but is in fact very relevant now that the same source has leaked a plausible Civ 6 release timeframe.

In this sense, what is Firaxis thinking? Are they doing this type of analysis? Are they also investing into an overdue new engine? Would we accept anything less than 64 bits for Civ 6 and beyond? Comparing GalCiv 3 and its unlimited possibilities due to being based on a 4th gen engine to the Civ 5/ BERT engine, can we imagine the impact of such a development on the possibilities for the Civ franchise?
I would love to hear something like this talk from Firaxis... too much to ask?
