I think, relatively speaking, CIV attracts a good number of female players.

It's no "sims" or "MMORPG", but I'm sure it has more than, say, call of duty/halo/warcraft III/starcraft/etc.
Although apparently retired before I even joined the boards, one of the top HoF players was female, and I know several that play myself...including two of polycast's co-hosts

I think you'll find a high percentage of males. There are a few females, and they tend to be pretty good, but even games like CivIV attract mostly males. A lot of CivIV is still warfare and crushing your enemies, so it appeals more to males.
One of the best of the first CivIII players was Moonsinger, who was female.
I'm a guy too, so I fit the stereotype.

Misotu is one of the best female HoF players around at the moment, she's still active.
Moonsinger has retired I think though.

From memory, other polls have shown the ratio to be approx 11:1 male:female.
