a size 13+ city under monarchy/communism gives 8 free units, while under democracy or republic gives 14+ commerce.

A size 7-12 city gives 4 free units for the advanced war govt', while representitive gov'ts give +8-13 commerce.

remember this: that bonus commcerce is multiplied by market places, etc. (although lowered by corruption)

A size 1-6 city gives 2 free units, or +2-7 commerce.

Also note I've been adding commerce to city squares.


In conclusion, the commerce gives enough to pay for the soldiers AND gives a little extra.

I've got a lot of problem while in Democracy AND making war.
I have to put entertainers in cities in order to maintain order...
It's wasting food, field and commerces...
In my last game, I had 7 luxuries most of the time, and happy improvement (temple, cathedrals, police station...) and people were not happy!
the solution is to not make war but how can I improve my land?
