Just got BE, and the differences between it and Civ5 have really been throwing me off in science in particular. It seems to me that the standard for any standard paced game seems to be 100 science per turn by turn 100, but the most Ive been able to manage is 50 by turn 100. How exactly do you get to 100 beakers this early? I've been trying to expand almost in an ICS style but it seems like health is impossible to manage until mid game.

Sci meter less in that game and there are no multipliers. (well, not many)

But I need to check what I have on turn 100.

I checked, i do not have 100 turn saves, but i had execly 100 beakers on turn 150. 4 cities, 4 outposts and army to keep Russians in bay. No cities specialize on science at that time.

I play on Soyuz, cant handle Apollo yet and i win comfortably but never get upto 100 bpt at turn 100.

in fact what i focus on more is to try and get out 4-5 cities by turn 100 while keeping health within -10

I think it's quite normal to be below 100 science on turn 100, at that time you're usually working on pushing your population and getting biowells up to leave negative health behind. The push in science comes later, once you start to get your academies running, complete knowledge tier 2, steal a ton of science and - depending on the situation - transfer to more external trade routes.

Probably possible if you have a lot of international trade routes.

(Like 6 or so)

I come to this game from a CIV4 background, so have been looking ways to have the equivalent of a "Great Person" farm for Science. How would it work to have a city full of Science buildings and Biowells to feed the science specialists?

there no gp there, but you can go 2 ways for specialize sci city: academy or biowells with sci specialists.
