Strategy to flight to space before 0AD in civilization 1 on emperor.



You need to: Start on earth map

Chose one of these civs: Russians, Mongols, Germans which are located in Eurosasia. Russians and Mongols are the best because they have all the euroasia with those goody huts for themselves, Germans are also viable as you can conquer Russians very fast like before 3700 BC, and also have

all the Siberia for yourself

Conquer at least 3 caps, use goody hut to give you cav,

Use another goody hut to give you free city with your militia (civ 1 warrior), I use mostle Volga region with the black sea a lot of grassland and sea, lot of trade, thats the spot for super science, city

In the year 3500 BC you can already have like 6 caps, with conquering your neighbours, and use goody huts, to give you city, if the goody hut give you another tech than those that are leading to democracy or to astronomy probably load the game, its also necessary to discover trade asap, as you need to produce all those caravans on

Discovering domocracy before 2500 BC is must, bulding Colossus before 3000 is must.

In your volga black sea city start building colossus, you can have this wonder even in 3200 or so

You need like 5 settlers , to improve tiles around you super science city, they will built roads and farms around you super science city, when its done, then conecting city to your far east

from your goody huts

also you need one coastal Peterburg city, which will produce your boat that will carry your caravans

to America, to eastablish trade there, if you have some good trading partner, well developed civ like Aztec, America you can have very juicy trade routes up to 10arrow * 3, which iis 30 additional arrows, all the tiles of the city are 20, most of them pwoduce 3 or 4 arrows, thats multiple 20 is, around 70, aso some of tiles will remain forest, because you also need prod in those city, all those caravans you send to America(England is also possible) need to be caravans from superscience city, other caravans are not needed to send to america, as all other cities will be just for production caravans, ussualy not bigger 5 or 6. After establishing all the trade just disband the ship.

You need these wonnders Colossus, Copernicus observatory, Isaac Newton College, Darwin voyage and Apollo Program. Very nice is J.S Bach Cathedral. Hanging gardens just a distraction. You dont need to build

Your Super Science City needs unconditionally Collosus, and Copenicus obs, other can be in other cities.

Caravans produced from your little 6 pop cities will be all send to Superscience city to build these buildings, temple, market place, library, collosseum, aquaduct, bank, cathedral, factory (actually may be not necessary, may be will be better for another use, but I always have been building it).

Temples are must in your 5 pop cities, so the can reach 6 pop, 8 pop they can reach with Bach Cathedral, if the land around them is properly improved, which I doubt it will), six pop is enough.

Copenicus Observatory need to be build before 2200BC, Isaac Newton College like 1500 or 1600.

Your superscience city will be producing like up to 500 science more, less

After swiching to democracy preferably before 2500BC, you set lux on max, so your superscience city reach like 9 pop, rest cities 5 or 6, your overall pop in 2000 BC need to be at least 1500000.

After having your superscience city set with all the improvements around irrigated, road built, with pop like 15 around 1500BC, you go tech path to railtoad, then preferably make additional settlers to build railroads around superscience cities, other cities need to be just connected to railroad network so these caravans and also units can move wihtin one turn across all your empire

After building the railroad network, your supercience city will be like 25 or 26 size, 20 tiles worked( at least 18 of them trade 3 or 4 arrow, road or sea, 6 will be scientist specialists,

you need to set your taxes as follows, carefully watch your treasury, so it not sells out your buildings (selling university in your superscience city will especially hurt). If you are low on gold, set your taxes to 90 percent taxes, probably 1 lux, and no science, you will have in your gold turn like + 120 to 150 gold, and then again switch to 0 taxes, 90 percent science, 10 lux., some of your

citizens on your superscience city can be set to marchant,in little cities also, that will lover you losing gold per turn, so you can focus just on science

After your SSC properly set with pop like 26, it will be producing around 500spp, that means one tech per turn.

delay researching electrocity as it cancels effect of collosus, your spp will go down to 300, which will be still like tech per 2 turns,

Last tech you need to research is Robotics, you will use Darwin Voyage preferably on your last two techs

After researching robotics, set your taxes on 90 percent gold, and sell your universities, factory(if its built in you ssc,libraries (you have just one in your ssc), then temples,Catherdral). Dont sell you bank markets in your ssc as its needed for gold income with the exception its like turn before launching your spaceship.

Spaceship needs to be built as follow three ss modules, one of each tipe, 6 sscomponents (4 fuel, 2 propulsion, 13 ss structurals, so the flght time is 20 years. Important it needs to be exactly 20 years, no more or less, as turns took 20 years in this era, and game will not register your spaceship landed, when it wont be 20 years.

When you reasearch spaceflight, you need to have prepared, at least 25 caravans,10 for appolo program, 15 for all the ss modules, ss compoments, can be built be after selling those improvements, if you have nine cities 3 core produce 3modules, 6 rest 6 compoments, then just built SS structurals,

Overall building your spaceship should not také more than 10 turns,in one turn you build 3 modules, another turn you will probably need at leatt 3 to produce compomnents, if you have excess caravans it will be less, SS structurals need to be done within 6 turns.

Probability of success is 95 percent, so save before launching.

One thing to watch out for with super early spaceship is that you have to launch it on the right date, as if it is scheduled to 'land' on a date that's normally skipped over because of how early in the game it is, then it just never does.
 
Haha, oops, you did indeed! You could try getting it even earlier with the classic exploit. Build one habitation module, one engine and launch. 0% success rate, but always succeeds (*goes to check you didn't already write that too*)
