I have gimp installed on my computer.
I don't know HOW to use it.
i've read over the manuel twice and it teaches almost nothing.
I need help! :help:
(one example, how do you open things?)

You could try searching online for gimp help to see if there are some dedicated websites or a gimp forum...

Altavista is bad. People can pay to have their website appear first in the search resaults. :ack: Google is far better :smug:

Altavista tends to be better for finding relevant images though when you do an image search...

He might want to in the future... I just felt like advertising a different search engine for a change...

Yeah, google is far too much used, it's starting to become corrupt soon with almost a monopoly...

www.dogpile.com is also quite good and fast, but there is no image search. EDIT: sorry, my glitch in memory- - just checked and there is one. It even seems to work better results than google...:)

True, the image search in google is horrible, you always get useless pics that you don't want that are something totally different... altavista might be a lot better. Should start using that for images perhaps...

Huh? With what searchwords?

BTW, if you put 3CC Conquest there you'll see my SG or so...:D

I think world map. Cool. TF set the clocks right. That would explain why all the forums were marked as read when I had just posted three second before. :)

Dogpile is awesome! I have it as a plugin to firefox...

This used to be a thread about the legend that is the GIMP.

I've been using it for a few years now and consider myself pretty good with it. It's one of those things that require determination and an inquisitive mind to use since it doesn't have a proper manual and isn't even made for Windows originally. :p

But it IS free.

Not really. It has many similar functions to Photoshop, but is still lacking in many areas. Plus GIMP is free, whereas Photoshop is expensive as ****.

I still prefer Photoshop anyhow.

If I had Photoshop, I'd be happy.

Just remembered I d/l:ed GIMP yesterday but forgot to install...
