First off, I'm pretty new to FFH2 (been playing it for a couple weeks now), and I'm brand-spankin' new to the Grigori / Cassiel, so my apologies if I'm incorrect on something.

Basically, as I understand it, Cassiel cannot have State Religion or hero units of his own, but he gets Adventurers instead, which have the Hero promotion. These adventurers are generated like Great People, with his Palace giving +2 Adventurer GPP per turn.

I like the dynamic of having to be cautious with Specialists, so as not to "waste" your GP pops on a Sage/Prophet/etc. My problem comes in when I'm playing Team games with my friend. Since the GP counters seem to be linked between civs, when he inadvertently popped a GP (generated from a Wonder he had built), this seemed to push back my production for an Adventurer. Since his wonders were generating more GPP than my Palace could, I was having a hard time getting another adventurer out, even if I used my world power to reset the counter.

So, is the above the desired mechanic for multiplayer? If so, does anyone know a way I could get around this problem of not being able to generate Adventurers? I looked in the Civelopedia and it seems the only other building that can help me produce Adventurers is the Grigori Tavern, but that's quite a long ways down the tech tree in my game.

The minimod put together by Sureshot removes that mechanic, I believe - she intended it for a few multiplayer fixes, though there are some gameplay changes too.

Minimod13 thread
the download there fixes it and adds some things
if you only want the GP fix then simply only use the GlobalDefinesAlt.xml from the Assets/XML folder provided in it.

or just add the following to your GlobalDefinesAlt.xml in your /FfH 030/Assets/XML/ folder:
<Define>
<DefineName>GREAT_PEOPLE_THRESHOLD_INCREASE_TEAM</DefineName>
<iDefineIntVal>0</iDefineIntVal>
</Define>

Right, and the problem is made worse because Grigori is very limited in the Adventurer GP points he can generate (only +2GPP from palace, all the way till Taverns).

Effectively, if you're teamed and build a wonder or two, it can be near impossible to ever get an adventurer out after that, especially playing with a Philo leader.

The Adventurer's Guild give +2 points for adventurers too.

With Philosophical trait and Pacificism civic, I am usually generating more GP points than my friend. He runs into problems getting great people since by the time he is ready to start getting GP, I have already popped three or four adventurers which makes his GP cost more.

The problem I run into with the Grigori is getting prophet points to build my Alter of Lunonatar.

Grigori build the altar with the Lunonothar unit, not with prophets.

The biggest problem with great people is that they don't scale by speed not that they increase in team game as this is just a balance factor...
