Giving units away?

I was wondering if it is possible to give one of your units to another civ. Not talking about selling although that would be cool. I thought it would be interesting to supply an enemy's enemy with military units to prolong a war without causing a war between myself and my enemy.

Nope it isn't. All you can do is gift them techs/resources/gold and hope they'll survive.

This is one of the features that should be added in Civ4, IMO

You can only give workers away in Civ3

You can also send forces to blockade the aggressing AI.

Thanks everyone, I thought that I could give away workers, and was hoping I could give away other units. I guess I'll just have t keep my fingers crossed for 4.
