[Civ2] Global warming - turn off

Friends, is it possible to turn off global warming in the game, but leave the pollution? In my opinion, the global warming effect does not behave adequately. It comes on too often and the effect is too strong. Watching a desert in Greenland is too much.

It is doable via hex-edits, but you'd have to find someone who can mess with code for that.
