In the CFC tradition and spirit of altruism i present a new thread mostly aiming to help me pick up metaphor ideas for my storywork.

The thread is about naming material objects which to you (for any reason) cause potentially (or more often) some kind of fear or at least unease. You don't have to mention what you feel about them, but a brief account or description of the object would be great (an image is even better :D ).

Some such objects are very commonly used in horror stories, so i am not interested in them for a number of reasons. Eg porceline or other children's dolls, scissors or other bladed and simple appliances, drawings or cards linked to supposedly occult lore and so on.

A debit card that drains your vitality/soul after it drains your bank account. Has there been anything written on that?

Only when seen together, though. Otherwise they don't really bother me.

It's dark. It's globular. It's radioactive.

My friends, let me introduce you to Neptunium.

I knew a guy who was totally creeped out by brussel sprouts. He swore that when he looked at them on a plate he would always see a face in the veins of the leaves so they looked like little dismembered heads. I thought he was a nut, but that might be something you could use.

The scary tree is a bit of a cliche, but that is one truly fine example of a scary tree.
