Gold gained per turn

I'm just wondering how much gold most people get in their treasury per turn. It seems like I should move the sliders up just enough to where I'm barely making any money at all but then I will not have enough for embassies and things like that. What do you think?

It depends on at what point I am in the game. Early in the game, I'm earning minimal amounts of money if doing my own research, and cranking it up to max if I'm planning to buy and trade my way through the tech tree. You could save up money for embassies by trading away techs to civs that don't have them, either for a set amount or for GPT (if you're lucky enough to get any ). Or, you could gradually lower the research slider as you get closer to finishing the tech, which will usually give you a fair amount of extra cash.

Of course, later in the game it all changes, and I am left with large amounts of GPT, and embassy costs become a non factor .

I usually have between -300 and +1500 coming in. To get extra check the resaerch slider every turn and see if you can put it down a notch without losing any turns.
