Gold? money?

hello people..
how do i earn lots of money..
my city is expanding and growing, but i have netloss all the time..
can any of you guys give me some suggest of getting mega gold?

Simple solutions:

Cut down on amount of units (your military advisor will tell you how many you can maintain without increased cost), increase tax rate
Watch out for corruption - it takes away gold
Build things like markets and banks
Don't build more city improvements than your cities can support. Buildings cost money to maintain, and citizens are your main for of tax.
Build roads, and cities by rivers and the sea because they experience much more trade. Trade = gold.
Attack barbarians. Destroying barbarian villages gains you 25 gold.
Beat on other civs and deman gold from them.

When I started playing I noticed that I was having a horrible time keeping up in money. Thusly, I fell behind technology wise. Once..I had my science down to zero and was still at a loss. Needless to say..I had to destroy units and buildings to keep afloat. Not very good.

I shifted my strategy to build more marketplaces and courthouses in my biggest cities. It seemed to help a ton. Also, trade resources! For either money or other respources to gain more and more! Luxuries and marketplaces seems to keep corruption at bay.
