Golem Powers

I have built the special buildings -the Adularia Chamber, the Palans Engine, and the Blasting whatever- in my capital and built Barnaxis.
The question I have is "do i have to maintain control of the mana for the building effect to work?"
I had only two mana sources (i play crowded maps) and i used one for metamagic. I made the nessesary mana for the building and then dispeled the node and built the next one. I waited 50+ turns to Build Barnaxis, waiting for sorsory and a mage, but now lo and behold he has no powers... Is that how its supposed to work?
 
Barnaxus gives his combat promotions to all golems (as empower); so if Barnaxus upgrades to combat 2, all golems get combat 2. Barnaxus doesn't get free experience points, though, unlike most of the national heroes. So for the Luchuirp, it is really good to get a few 'easy' kills with Barnaxus to get his strength up. Once he gets to combat 5, try to keep him out of trouble!

It can be hard to level him up intially. One idea, if you are afraid to attack with him, is to soften up enemy stacks with artillery and allow Barnaxus to get a few easy ones initially. If you are still afraid, you can get a blasting workshop to allow Barnaxus to blast enemies. Finally, if Barnaxus is killed, he leaves the 'shards of Barnaxus'. If you can get them back (they are in the square where he died) you can rebuild him.

So Barnaxus can pass of free promotions to 200+ units (yes, EVERY golem!). Since golems can't get upgrades on their own, getting Barnaxus upgraded is really important fo the Luchuirp.

I find them a lot of fun to play!

I have played with Barnaxus before, and love his empower abillity.

My issue is that i built the adularia chamber, the palans engine and the blasting workshop, and when Barnaxus built he didnt have fireballs, see invisible, or hidden.
I even reloaded and rebuilt my fire node. Same result.
 
Do your other golems have them? It's quite possible he's just not eligible for those aspects of the chambers. I know that they do work for standard golems in my own experience.
 
I havent built other golems in that city yet. I am turning Angelic in a turn or two, and i wanted Barnaxus to be powerful before i switched.

I will build a golem to see.

If you find that it doesn't work with 'normal' golems, please post a savegame. I'm assuming that in your game, the buildings were built before you built Barnaxus?

I reloaded to an autosave, went forward and now Barnaxus has all the promos! Even the one i didnt maintain mana for... Dont know what was different this time.

But problem solved!

Ok, new question.
What are the odds of my units (Murcrean) becoming Angels? Also what are the odds of Religious units becoming Angels (I know its only Order, Runes or Empy), I thought religious units went automatically to their second form (Angels or Manes). I ask because i have most of my army made of Paramanders and they are not all retuning, neither did Bambur -due to that im reloading from autosave, i need his xp as an Angel.
 
I don't know the odds, but it may have something to do with the number you already have. So I think the odds decline as your army grows.

Well i have another problem. I have 350+ xp, and i have no great general. Any clue?
 
Well, and technically, possibly to highlight the change, they're Great Commanders in FfH2, not Great Generals. :)
