I played civ 4 for hours everyday years ago. Now I see there is a civ 5 and a civ revolution. I have heard civ revolution is sort of limited/dumbed down so it doesn't sound interesting to me. But I'm thinking of getting civ 5. Is a civ 6 coming out soon? Will there be a civ 6? I enjoyed civ 4. Do most people that played civ 4 like civ 5 too? Does civ 5 have all the expansion packs available now or did they even have any like civ 4 'beyond the sword' etc.? Any ideas, thoughts, info appreciated.

Civ V just had its second expansion (Brave New World; prior expansion was Gods & Kings), so speculation about a third expansion or Civ VI is premature.

Hard to say, but among my friends there's a lot of division. Some think 4 is the superior establishment, but most, me included prefer 5.

Civ V changes the series a lot, simplifies some things and feels more like a "game" than Civ IV that is something between a "game" and a "simulator". The AI of V is more focused on winning and focuses mainly on stuff relevant for the game - for example, there are much less arbitrary love/hate buttons than in Civ IV. I also prefer Civ V's combat system, because it's no longer just about which one has the larger and more advanced stack of doom.

You've got to try it yourself to be sure, though.
