Resource seed is 47. The forest is 4-specials. The starting spot looks pretty good for OCC.

Size-1ing seems to be likely then. Most players will gamble on that first hut before settling (maybe on the forest tile? Will most likely need an SSC with 7 players, can't expand very hard) Hopefully there's a fruit special to ensure 2fpt if there is an unfortunate AT pop before the size-1 settler is ready. (In the event that we get a military unit from the 1st hut.) Otherwise it might waste a bunch of early production.

Hello. I've not been around for a few years. Good to see this is still going. I've managed to get Civ2 working on my laptop (thanks to the threads on it) but it is of course the MGE version. I thought I'd have a go at this one as I fancied playing a landing game. I've not kept notes but I'll post rough dates etc in the spoiler thread.

Hello Magic. I's been nearly four years looking at my last posts, don't know where the time has gone.

I have the original Civ2 cd but had to upgrade it to MGE (and patch it) for it to work on win 8.1

Unless I've missed or misunderstood the threads I thought classic didn't work on 8.1?

It doesn't work on 64bit computers, which we can safely assume is the case for (almost) all Win 8.1 machines.

I've got an XP disc somewhere, which would have helped create a partition etc, but unfortunately can't find the disc so I'm stuck with the fierce AI for now.

Uhhh...

Regarding my submission, are you sure we have the same files?

When I look at my log/my last save, it shows Turn 257/470 (well away from green star) and final score of 3452, giving me GOTM score of 340.786. That`s only good for third place, and a ways away from green star... on results page it shows me as 2ndplace and green star. There`s no way that`s right.
