Please join me in congratulating all of our participants in Gotm15-Russia.

This game represents a new beginning for the GOTM as evidenced by a record setting number of submissions that exceed all previous GOTM events for 2001 and 2002. In this respect, every player is a winner for being part of such a special event.

Scores in this game were high, and many players reached new levels of personal achievement.

The results summary for this game lists all of the games scores and provides you with some extra information to begin the transition to the scoring system that will take effect with Gotm17. Please make use of the examples and tools that are provided to you on the website and feel free to ask any questions that you might have about how this new scoring system may effect the overall positions and final scores that we may expect to see in future events.

Again, congratulations to all the participants and a special nod of appreciation to all our first time players as well as those players who may have returned to the GOTM after several months of absence.

Gotm15-Russia Results Table

We will update the Global Ranking Pages in a few days to include all of the new players (bringing the total player count to 488 players).

Congrats to everyone who played GOTM 15... it was very entertaining wasn't it? 170 entries--the more the merrier.

DaveMcW wow great job on the Space Race victory in 1100!!!

Bolan Longpants, welcome to GOTM and good job on a excellent 1st showing.

Sir Pleb congrats on edging Bamspeedy by 220 points for the gold.

Grey Fox, you were robbed! Great score for a "loss". I bet all the other civs capitols will have BIG red bullseyes on them in your next game.

Me? I had fun and was glad to almost make the top 20. I would like to congratulate myself for winning the Warmonger Golden Erection Award in QSC 15 :D Still looking for a graphic for that one? How about the golden key from Austin Powers Goldmember? lol

Congrats to all winners of course, but especially to DaveMcW for his awesome lauch date :goodjob:. It will be very difficult to best this almost certainly world record time, but it will be tried of course, rest assured. ;)

nice to see the amount of players and competition increasing, great job you're doing cracker. One question though, why aren't everybody's reload numbers shown? I would say that if you decide to put this info open for viewing, you should make everyones info available, not just the high-scorers. And if it is done to validate the best games, it seems to me that all award winning players should have their reload count revealed.

I just lloked at those results... Man, I never get scores of even half of those point totals....
I have a Q though: What does "turns per reload" mean?

A reload is any time a save is loaded and played on from. There are legal reasons for reloads. No one can be expected to play through the whole game in just one sitting (though Konny came really close this month). Reloading for a misclick, and of course for when the game crashes, are also alowed. The reloads which aren't allowed are to get better results or replay any part of the game.

The turns per reload is just that, how many turns on average the player makes it through in each sitting. They are included to help assure those players who feel the top scores must come from cheating that it is not the case, as well as to give some insight into the playstyle of the players.

20 was just chosen as an arbitrary cutoff point.

Wow! I was close. You guys are very good! Congratulation to everyone who played and those that won something.:goodjob: Charis's game was very impressive!:goodjob: And DaveMcW, thanks for teaching me the value of sharing and giving; I know I will be more sharing and giving tech away in my next game.:) And those that outmilked me, I hope that you cared about the environment as much as I did...because I didn't build any hospital until I was about to discover Ecology.;) Well done, indeed!:goodjob:

hmm, so why there are so many players with less then 20 turns/reload? some only played 9,10 turns...am i the only one who thinks that this is a rather small number?

Bamspeedy,

I just take a quick look at your game and I want to say that I really like your building style (a good friend to the environment).:) I will have to try your style in my next game.:)

Wooo, fastest conquest victory at the 57th place!! :D [dance]
Congrats to all the highest scores and thnx to the staff. Very well done!

Wow 155 submissions in the results table! And I'm number 152. :p That's cool. I had a lot of unhappiness so my score was probably hurt by that. If I can't get enough luxs hooked up or enough improvements built my happy citizens will drop even further.

Yet again the first eight scores ended at 2050...

That will change soon. I believe with GOTM 17 we will be using the new formulae. You can get an idea of what the results would have been using the new formuale by looking at the column to the right.

This will help to give you an idea of how the new scoring system will play out.

Amazing turnaround time GOTM Staff!:goodjob:

I'm particularly impressed with the turn out. There were more than twice as many scores listed this month over last month! As one of the first time submitters, I have to say the game was fun even if I had to kill myself to submit before the deadline.

See you next month!

Space race victory 1100AD? FAN-TAST-IC! I am not worthy.

My first attempt is GOTM16 but I just know that I would be way down on this list. Some very impressive scores.

Yeah... I was expecting about 13000-15000 in that game... maybe only around 10000.

My problem was that I left the other continent for too long, I didn't wait until Modern Armors. And then they had plenty of Mech Infantry themselves.

So, when I set my cunning plan to destroy the Babylonian capital and their future SpaceShip in motion, they launched it 1 or 2 turns before I was about to take the Babylonian Capital, filled with wonders.... I even had a beachhead 4 or so tiles from the City.

Well, that's the way it goes. I played too relaxed from the moment I took the continent. 16th place for a loss, that's not so bad though :p

Great game, and good played Sir Pleb, Bamspeedy, Eman and all the other good scorers this month. Nice victory Charis! :goodjob:

And good job all players, seems like many players won this game. (something I didn't ;))

And here I thought you threw the game to get the coveted Green ambulance award.
